Chachi's Monday Ramblings - Tuesday Edition
Yeah, I know it's Tuesday, but I was fighting off a killer hangover yesterday. On to the list.
- I find the "reports" the Chris Paul is going to be named ROY hilarious. I don't even follow basketball that closely and I knew he was hands-down the best rookie in the league this year. How is this "breaking news" ESPN?
- Is there anything better than your team being tied atop their division with a hated rival and a 3 game series on tap against them? I can't wait for the next three days to play out. Go Yankees! Oh, and check out this article on the New York Post Online Edition about the need to brush Papi back. God bless New Yorkers!
- Tope 3 records in MLB right now: 1. White Sox (22-9) 2. Mets (21-20) 3. Cincinnati (21-11) Cincinnati? Are you kidding me? The best part about this is watching all the Reds' fans come out of the wood work and start making noise only to see their hopes and dreams crushed again by August. Good times!
- All I have to say is go Rockies and Rangers! I would love to see these two teams make the playoffs and blow all the experts minds.
- Is there anything else going on in the sports world right now besides Barry Bonds? I mean really, this is getting ridiculous. This is a lot of fuss being made for a guy moving into 2nd place. Not first, second! Heck, he's still over 40 away from the actual record. For me, Bonds can not go away quick enough and I hope the spectactle that is now his career doesn't overshadow or ruin this season.
- NHL note - Congrats to Ilya Bryzgalov and his 169+ minute shutout streak in the playoffs. Fourth longest streak of its kind and he's the first rookie since 1945 to post back-to-back shutouts in the playoffs. Impressive stuff from a rookie no matter the league.
- NBA note - I'm happy that the Cavs made the playoffs, won their first round matchup and Lebron got to show case why he may be the next great star of the NBA, but they looked horrible against Detroit and have no shot at beating them.
- Finally, yes it is true. My last place, crappy team beat Shark in fantasy baseball and it felt wonderful.

I was going to throw in the Tiger note, but I don't feel the need to give you any more ammo Den.
Also, there may be more hockey stuff coming as I have begun working at quite possibly the biggest hockey bar in Columbus, the R Bar.
Kiss my ass, I can write about whatever I want.
Hockey is actually growing on me this year and last time I checked we lived in a town with a professional hockey team. I'm not going to focus on hockey, but occassionally I am going to talk about it.
